4×4 Driving – Choosing the Right Mode

A 4×4 gives you better traction and control on loose or challenging terrain. The key is choosing the right 4WD mode before you need it.

2H – Normal Driving

For paved roads and firm surfaces. Always use 2H on sealed roads.

4H – Gravel & Light Off-Road

For gravel roads, sand and light off-road sections. 4H improves traction and should be engaged before entering difficult terrain.

4L – Challenging Terrain

For steep climbs and particularly difficult sections. Drive slowly and under control. Engage 4L only while stationary and according to the vehicle’s instructions.

Important: Don’t wait until the wheels are already spinning. Smooth, steady progress is key – more throttle is not always the answer.

Once you have cleared the difficult section, return to the appropriate mode. Exact operation varies between vehicles – our vehicle handover will show you how your 4×4 system works.
