Breakdowns & Emergencies in Namibia

Even with a reliable 4×4, a breakdown or emergency can happen. Stay calm and assess the situation first.

In Case of a Breakdown

• Move the vehicle to a safe position if possible and switch on the hazard lights.
• Contact Africa on Wheels: +264 81 129 3355 and provide your exact location.
• Stay with the vehicle. If there is wildlife nearby, it is dark or you are in a national park, stay inside the vehicle.
• Do not attempt risky repairs on the road.

In Case of an Accident or Emergency

For a breakdown, contact Africa on Wheels first. In case of immediate danger or an accident, call 112 or 999. For police assistance, call 10111; for an ambulance, 10177.

Once safe, contact Africa on Wheels and inform us of the situation.

Namibia has long distances and remote areas. Always carry enough water, a charged phone and a spare tyre.
