Dune tours entail trips through arid parts of Namibia marked as “restricted areas” such as the Namib Desert, or the deserts of neighboring Angola. These offers are only allowed as guided tours, led by one of the licensed tour operators holding a permit for these areas. Please indicate the tour operator who will be doing the dune-driving tour with you, or ask us for referrals!

Standard routes to e.g. Sossusvlei (marked as 4×4 routes) do not count as dune driving, even though there are dunes, since you will be travelling on leveled and demarcated roads.
